Enlighted CEO Joe Costello Interviewed on “MacIntyre in the Morning”

March 14, 2017

Enlighted CEO Joe Costello was on talk radio last week, doing a feature interview on MacIntyre in the Morning during the 6am episode on March 8th. The topic of discussion was whether the Internet of Things (IoT) is a technology that could be used to monitor employees.

Joe explained how the Enlighted IoT platform works using small sensors in the lights that help to optimize lighting and heating within a space. In order to do this, it’s important to have a broad understanding of human activity in a building, he explained.

The system does this by anonymously collecting data on building occupancy, and how people and assets move through a space during the workday.

Joe described how the Enlighted IoT platform helps nurses reduce the amount of time they spend looking for medical equipment in hospitals by using asset tracking technologies, and how in offices, lighting and heating can be delivered in a more personalized, and cost-efficient manner.

“You really have to understand human activity if you want to automate these things within a building” he noted.
